Life's Realisation

Sometime a hundred things may be on your mind. You think to yourself tomorrow’s a new day. You go to sleep hoping that your mind will clear in the morning. BUZZ !!!! BUZZ!!!!!!! BUZZ!!!!!!!!!!!! The alarm goes, you fumble in your sleep to reach for the alarm and put it off and then roll around lazily in bed. Little by little you start to really awake. As soon as you are wide awake all the mind baggage hits you with a thud. “Why didn’t I sort all this out yesterday” you think. But, it’s too late. Morning has already dawned….. You don’t have the time to deal with all of this. You have to get ready for life’s daily rat race WORKkkkkkkkk. You wrestle with your mind, to keep these nagging thoughts at bay. You, step into work. “Good Morning” everyone greets you as you pass by. You are forced to reply because you don’t want to publicize how you really feel or what’s on your mind; because you have been thought never to mix your personal life with your work life. “My eye was hurting all day and I was feeling totally out of sorts.” he said yesterday while I sat in the garden sipping my tea after work. “May be your lenses are dirty.” I said “Here, check and see, but I remember cleaning it today” He said When I looked at the spectacles I had to stifle a giggle coz I found it sooo funny to notice that one of the lenses in the pair of spectacles had fallen out somewhere and had gone unnoticed all day. Only when I pointed it out to him that he realized the missing lens. I immediately armed myself with a torch and searched high and low in every nook and corner for the missing lens. Thankfully, before too long it was found unbroken on the lunch table.

Today, I got a bit later than usual and to add to it there was a slight traffic jam probably because of the rain. So, there I was creeping in every free spot that I could possibly find to get ahead of the next vehicle and get to work on time. At one point the lane closest to the pavement was free so I decided to use it so that I could over take a real slowcoach that was driving fit for a funeral. I accelerated and quickly overtook the vehicle. Alas! But in the process I accidentally gave a poor old soul a mud bath. I sure as hell felt and still feel reallyyyyy bad coz I know what it feels like to get drenched by careless motorists. I wish I could have taken it all back, but, I can’t. I wish I could have stopped and said sorry, but then again it would have only infuriated the guy totally. So I just continued on my way and vowed to be was extra careful and not to splash anyone again.

Last Friday some of my friends and myself went to visit buddy in Maharagama. I should admit that I am not familiar with the roads in Maharagama, so looking for the turn off to our friend’s place was quite a tedious affair. Nevertheless, after we went in circles we successfully reached our destination. On our way back I waited patiently to turn on to the main road from the Elhena Road. As soon as I got way I turned on to what I assumed was the road. To our horror there was a thud (loud noise) and the car bumped up and down, before I managed to bring the car to a halt. I assumed that I had hit a rather biggggg pothole; coz what else can you expect in the middle of a road. But, to our surprise we figured out that it was barrel drain. The barrel drain was covered with concrete slabs in the middle of the road but, one was dislodged and for my bad luck the car had hit the one dislodged. I don’t see why such issues are not reported and attended to by relevant authorities; because if it were

No doubt nowadays mobiles phones have become a cant-live-without accessory to many of us. I myself make sure to keep my phone somewhere in the vicinity wherever I am so that I wont miss any calls or SMS. Thinking back I find it quite amusing that once upon a time I didn’t own a mobile and my life was just perfect with out it. But then again, now after getting so used to a mobile, I would find myself totally lost without one. A few weeks ago someone robbed one of my buddies N series mobile in the bus. I can imagine how upset she was coz I treat my phone like gold and carry it around in a phone pouch which has a neck chain. Yesterday, while driving back home with a friend I told my friend hang on to it while I drove. My phone was the last thing on our minds as she rushed to catch the bus. A little while later handsfree beeped. “Now how in heaven did my hands free get disconnected” I thought to myself and instantly looked around for my handbag, as I assumed my phone was there. Make sure that, that person is not a widow or a divorcee or a childless lady” he rambled off to me a few days ago. “What’s the big deal?” I said. “It is very bad for the bride coz most of the time, she ends up with some ill fate. Thanks Santhoshi, this is good to get me back on track coz I have really missed blogging. But sorry for the delay. Hmmm…. what makes me happy… That’s a good Q, I don’t think that I have ever really stopped and pondered on this Q never stopped to ask my self. Guess there are hundreds of stuff……hmmm now let me think Here goes, 1.) Spending time with my boyfirend (sometimes its like the entire world stand still) 2.) Laughing my sides off 3.) Playing with kids (I simply love kids) 4.) Jabbering (generally I jabber my daylights out to my boyfriend & best friend ) 5.) Helping people the best way I can 6.) Meeting up with friends 7.) Traveling (wish I could do more of it) 8.) Pottering around the house and doing little odd jobs (I have to get into a mood to do this and when I do I never stop until the job is done) 9.)
